Welcome To
Boulder City
Boulder City is a unique small town, distinctly different from its neighboring cities. Located just outside Henderson and about 20 minutes from Las Vegas, Boulder City offers stunning lake views and proximity to wildlife, including the impressive Big Horn Sheep. With no gaming establishments and predominantly older construction due to building restrictions, Boulder City maintains its charming small-town feel.
What I love most about Boulder City is its old-town charm, friendly community, and walkability to local bars and restaurants. Highlights include Milo’s, a great wine restaurant and hotel, the Coffee Cup, a beloved breakfast spot filled with memorabilia, the Brewery for karaoke, and Dillinger’s, famous for its burgers. A newly opened speakeasy-style bar in the basement of the historic hotel adds to the town’s appeal. Additionally, the annual Art in the Park event at the end of summer showcases fantastic art, food, and beverages from nearby restaurants.
Boulder City is home to Lake Mead, the Hoover Dam, Bootleg Canyon, Black Canyon, and Willow Beach. Lake Mead is a vast recreational area perfect for boating, swimming, fishing, kayaking, and wakeboarding. Bootleg Canyon offers amazing mountain bike trails with breathtaking views along the River Mountain Trails, as well as exhilarating zip lines reaching speeds up to 50 MPH. The historic railroad, operational from 1931 to 1961, now features a fun railcar ride and numerous hiking trails. Black Canyon and Willow Beach provide historic tours near the Hoover Dam, ideal for boating, swimming, and camping.
Living In
Boulder City
Exciting new developments are underway in Boulder City, which has long maintained higher land values than Las Vegas and Henderson due to strict building restrictions. This is a particularly thrilling time for home buyers, as a new home builder has invested $9 million in land, marking the beginning of what is being called Boulder City’s largest home development in nearly 30 years, set to break ground in 2020.
This new development will feature 127 homes, ranging from average-sized to large estates, with 3 to 7 bedrooms, all no more than two stories high. Preliminary pricing starts in the low $400,000s. This scale of development hasn’t been seen since the late 1980s and early 1990s, during the construction of the Municipal Golf Course Estates.
